Chelsea Read is a graphic designer based in Seattle.

Hi! Salut! Hej!

I’m a graphic designer interested in creating brands and design systems. My experience comes from working in museums and designing exhibits in galleries and private collections. From there, I framed, conserved, and installed artwork for exhibitions, and moved into set decoration and design for commercials and indie films. My experience informs my approach to design, and I am able to see how a brand can move beyond the digital sphere and extend as a true expression of a brand’s voice in a physical space.

When I’m not designing, I can be found painting, learning other languages, and exploring the world around me. I’m guided by big picture thinking, inspired by bold design, and fueled by exquisite details, rabbit holes, and caffeine.

Philosophy:

Creating beauty in the world gives me the most meaning in life. I feel most connected to my work when I’m learning, strategizing, collaborating, and integrating new solutions for problems. Success for me is driven by my positive impact on any given project. Making my environment a better place than I found it is a critical part of my being, and this guides me in my work. It’s important to me that my work in communication design helps expand access, ease, and understanding in the world.
